
"Purpose" - The reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.
The 'AGM', is an instrumental meeting in which all of the stake-holders - RSG's legitimate Membership of an organisation meet and discuss aspects of the institution.
Several key activities take place, and this is the primary event through which the "Gurdwara Sangat " engage in the only democratic process that takes place once a year.
Accountability from the current 'management' to the satisfaction of the membership, being a primary concern.

Rights and Meetings of the General Body
1. Any duly paid member will have the right to vote (see clauses 3.1,3.2, 3.3&3.4)
2. According to the terms of the Constitution to elect a Managing Committee
3. To consider proposals to make any changes in the Constitution but for any amendments to be made there must be a Quorum of at least 15% of members eligible to vote at the Meeting of the General Body.
This Quorum is only required for amendments to the Constitution.

4. The General Meeting of the Ramgarhia Sikh Gurdwara shall take place once a year on the first Sunday of March.
All the members will be sent an invitation for the meeting a month before and notice of this effect will be put on the Gurdwara Notice Board.
Only those members who are eligible (see clause 3.3) can take part in the meeting, who shall have been valid members for one year prior to the meeting.

5. To get the report of the previous General Meeting approved.
6. To read out the Annual Report, the Annual Accounts Report and the Auditor's Report in details.
7. On the request of one quarter of the General Body, the Managing Committee shall have to call a General Meeting.

Members have rights to certain basic provisions and services; meeting these needs places an obligation or responsibilities on the current 'managing committee'.
